A 15-year old student, Rita Clement, was on Thursday
kidnapped on her way to write her Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination
(UTME) in Agidingbi, Ikeja, Lagos State. Rita lived in Berger and left home
around 5:30am for her exam which would start by 6:30am.
Her family became worried when Rita did not return home
on time, until they got a text from her saying, she has been kidnapped. Rita
explained in the text that, her kidnappers had seized her phone, beat her and
she does not know her exact location. She said, she was able to text through
the help of someone who gave her a phone to use while her kidnappers were away.
She also said in the text that they said they would kill her if she makes any
attempt to run.
Her mother and uncle have informed the police, but Rita
is yet to return. Let us say a word of prayer for her.
